He has worked for some of the top companies in the oil and gas and banking industries. Richard P. "Dick" Moynihan -
President & Director of Operations- Board member since January 2009
Born December 3, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts. Graduated from Northeastern University, Boston, in 1958 with BS ChE. Employed by Mobil Oil Corporation at the Paulsboro, New Jersey Refinery. Transferred to the Commercial Marketing function in 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Transfers to Charlotte, Northern New Jersey and Philadelphia preceded a move into the Management Group in Los Angeles, California. Additional moves to Kansas City, and Dallas led to a switch to Mobil Chemical Marketing Management and an assignment on New York City. Luckily the Division moved offices to Houston in 1976 and I have been in Houston ever since.
Primary avocations have always centered around Youth Athletics with coaching and officiating mainly baseball and soccer. Proudest accomplishment was starting the Public High School Soccer program at Spring High School in 1978. The program expanded throughout Houston and provided the final impetus for Statewide authorization for Soccer to be a UIL Championship sport. Assisted in the formation of both the local and State Soccer Officials organizations. Led the Statewide group for five years.
Other activities include volunteering in Church guided activities, Special Olympics, NAM, etc. Pleased to be associated with Ground Angels, and its activities.
Married Janet Mosse in Boston early 1959, and we became the very proud parents of four sons. The first and last born in New Jersey and the middle two in North Carolina. Janet died in 1997. The Good Lord brought Juliet Crowell, also a widow, into my life via a mutual friend who attends the same Church as me, and is a childhood friend of Juliet. We married in 1999, bringing two more boys into the family. We have 14 Grandchildren ranging in age from 21 to 4.
Our recreational activities today center around travel in our motor home and reunions of various groups we have belonged to across the USA.
